Allie Wayman

Greetings! I pride myself on being an inquisitive, life-long learner, and strive to offer my passion and knowledge for treating mental health conditions based on evidence, respect, and choice. I believe healing and well-being should be accessible for all persons. As such, I employ a humanistic approach to patient care that is holistic yet individualized to a person’s unique needs and circumstances. As an honor’s graduate of Rush University’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program, and a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), I incorporate evidence-based modalities including, but not limited to, psychiatric medication management, integrative/non-pharmacological options, and psychotherapy. I enjoy partnering with patients on a wide array of mental health conditions, from bipolar/mood/psychotic disorders to substance use disorders, to trauma/anxiety/adjustment disorders, to ADHD.

In response to the extensive gaps I observed in access to quality health care for women, I completed a fellowship and training in the subspecialty of reproductive psychiatry. This has prepared me to treat women across their reproductive lifespan, incorporating how hormones impact mental wellbeing during stages such as pregnancy or perimenopause. I am honored to create a safe space to discuss the unique risks/benefits of psychiatric medications – based on updated research and practice guidelines – for both mom and baby during the perinatal, postpartum, and lactation periods; and conversely, the risks/benefits of withholding or discontinuing treatment during this time. Women deserve the opportunity to make informed decisions about treatment options for their families, and I am happy to consult acutely or establish a long-term therapeutic relationship, to make this possible.

I look forward to collaborating with you on your journey of wellbeing – something we all deserve to achieve in our own meaningful way.
